What Coffee Sorting Problems Can We Review?

A coffee color sorter should be selected around the material and quality target—not around a generic equipment claim. At Booth 1906, the WESORT team can discuss applications such as:

Coffee cherries

  • Visible color and appearance differences associated with cherry maturity
  • Visibly discolored or surface-damaged cherries, subject to sample evaluation
  • Sorting standards for different cherry grades or receiving requirements

For a coffee cherry sorter application, representative samples are necessary because cherries have different size, moisture, surface, and feeding characteristics from dry coffee beans. The feeding method and machine configuration must therefore be evaluated separately rather than assumed to be the same as a green-bean setup.

Green coffee

  • Visible black, white, immature, or waxy-color beans

A Mexican coffee processor purchased a smaller WESORT coffee sorter in 2023 and added a larger machine in 2024 after its initial use. The application focused on green coffee sorting.
