Star anise is a famous seasoning spice and is also used for medicine. Peel, seeds, and leaves all contain aromatic oils, which are important raw materials for the manufacture of cosmetics, sweet wine, beer and food industries. In China, it is mainly produced in western and southern Guangxi (mostly cultivated in Baise, Nanning, Qinzhou, Wuzhou, Yulin and other areas), with an altitude of 200-700 meters, and the natural distribution can reach an altitude of 1600 meters. Both Guilin Yanshan (approximately 25°11′ north latitude) and Doushui Town, Shangrao, Jiangxi (25°50′ north latitude) have been introduced and bloom and bear fruit normally. It is also planted in southern Fujian, western Guangdong, southeastern Yunnan and southern Yunnan. Recently, however, some media reported that the largest star anise wholesale market in Guangxi Nanning Gaofeng Natural Spices Logistics Center exposed sulfur star anise again, which attracted the attention of market supervision departments. So how do consumers tell if the star anise has been smoked by sulfur?
1. Smell it. Because sulfur has a pungent smell, we can pick it up and smell the star anise when we buy it. The normal star anise is more fragrant and has a unique fragrance of the seasoning. If there is a pungent smell or no smell, don't buy it.
2. Take a look. The color of a normal octagonal is reddish brown. It is a complete petal with 8 corners, and there are 7 or 9 corners. If the color is yellow or there are too many corners, the quality will not be so good.
3. Touch it. Because we said earlier that the sulphur-smoked star anise is not allowed to dry for enough days, the moisture content is higher, and the weight is heavier than the normal star anise. You can feel a little bit of coolness by squeezing it lightly with your hand, and the moisture is quite sufficient. There are plenty of octagonal octagonal octagonal anise.

If only a small amount is purchased, the above method is feasible, but in the case of a large amount, the required labor cost will increase. Here we need to use mechanized equipment, such as the fragrance color sorter and fragrance color of Zhongrui Microvision. The sorting machine can distinguish the star anise according to the color difference, and even the shape of the star anise. In addition, the spice color sorter can not only choose the star anise, but also pepper, pepper, cumin and other materials
